Hello, and welcome.
My name is Susan. I used to be a hoarder. Not the sort of hoarder that ends up evicted or on television documentaries to be gawked at and pitied, but I could have been if I'd let it go on for long enough. I was fortunate enough to realise that I had a problem when I was in my mid-twenties and spent several years trying to declutter until I came across 'minimalism' and began to assess how much I really did need, and why I was keeping stuff in the first place.
My story can be found here: 1 2 3 4 5
I am married to The Man, and left my teaching career to care full time for Big Boy and Small Boy and we live in Townsville, Australia, where it is wet for a few months, dry for the rest, and hot for all of them.
I love the Lord Jesus, and am continually thankful for his saving grace. My faith influences my attitude towards other people, and towards environmental issues. I believe God made the world and put humans 'in charge' of it to use its resources and to look after it. I don't expect you to believe everything I do, but I expect you to respect what I believe and I'll do the same for you.
This blog is about me learning to live with just what I need, but also about being conscious about my purchases and the effect that they have on the rest of the world.
